Comprehensive Safety Program
Stellar Safety Program and Track Record.
Tantara‘s corporate safety program complies with USACE’s Engineer Manual EM 385-1-1, Safety and Health Requirements, OSHA and other regulatory requirements. Comprehensive safety procedures, processes, training, equipment and supplies support program implementation, and have proven effective on 400+ projects, including construction, remediation of conventional contamination, and high-hazard remediation. Our current EMR of 0.81 and track record of DART rate well below the US Department of Labor industry standard reflects the success of the program.
Integrating Safety Throughout All Project Activities
Tantara safety professionals work with Project Managers and Superintendents to develop project approaches and site-specific safety plans that protect project personnel and stakeholders. Field personnel are trained in safe work practices, and we subcontractor prequalification includes verifying Stellar Safety Program and Track Record. Site Safety & Health Officers (SSHOs) conduct daily tailgate safety meetings and on-site inspection/monitoring to ensure safe project operations, and analyze/disseminate lessons learned to continually improve safe work practices. Executive management review of safety performance and independent audits by our corporate Safety Manager provide an independent check that work is being planned and conducted safely.
Everyone is Responsible for Safety
All field staff on Tantara projects have the authority to halt site work and implement corrective actions if an unsafe practice or condition is observed. Working safely ensures our staff and client/user group personnel are protected, avoids disruptions and schedule delays, and minimizes cost.
